With the rising and the setting of the sun, the "Solitudes at Bayside" name was born.

Many quiet mornings Peter stole gently out of the house in a rugged pair of jeans and golf polo with only his wife aware of his leaving, a camera strapped round his hand and keys in the other.

He was to be the sole spectator of an ongoing masterpiece

displayed by the Creator and his "gentle Island" on one of the Island's most secret shores. The setting? Grand River in Bayside, PEI. The spectacle?

Morning. In all its renowned glory. Nostalgic purples and shy

blues, throwing off the cloak of night and giving way to glowing harmonies of corals and golds.

A peacefully sleeping bay awakened suddenly with a splashes of day all around, morning birds chirping companionably, the slight chill warming by degrees and the smell of morning dew escaping into the perfume of pungent daisies and pearl and amethyst clover.

Footprints only were left.

Snapshots only were taken.

Or maybe by accident something else was also taken. An inspiration. In the midst of all this sweet, silent Island beauty, Peter stumbled upon the ideal name for such wonder.

There it was. A wild and mostly uncultivated field of silage and long Island grasses. But to Peter Brown, present owner and developer of one of Prince County's most lovely pieces of shorefront property,it was a canvas.

He saw what others could not. A seaside estate, like to the million dollar homes he had previously mastered at Bell's Point in Bedeque? An cozy cluster of cottages along the bank? A Prince County Dalvay-by-the-Sea dream resort to cater to a 5-star clientele? An enchanted getaway for couples? Or a simple, family investment for future gatherings? You decide!

Gradually the land gave way under the labor and care of tractors and dozers. Leaving it generally intact to preserve its original integrity, and with his sons as partners, Peter mowed away the overgrowth and gently pruned the rows of spruce. The men dug two freshwater ponds and awaited rainfall to see if they would fill naturally.

And they did not disappoint.

The Solitudes at Bayside have seen many dawns and dusks...but never so lovely as the ones since Bayside Group have set to bring the most out of its land.
